Scope and mission
The Journal of Bone and Orthopedic Sciences (JBOS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality research and scholarship in orthopedics, bone-related sciences, musculoskeletal sciences, trauma care, and other related branches of medicine. JBOS offers an international forum to orthopedic surgeons, clinicians, researchers, academicians, health-care professionals, and scientists to publish their innovative scientific results that will help improve patient care and musculoskeletal health.
JBOS is concerned with the enhancement of knowledge, diagnosis, management, rehabilitation, and prevention of diseases of bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other structures of the musculoskeletal system. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary studies of orthopedics which can contribute to the development of new therapeutic strategies, innovative surgical procedures, diagnostic methods, and modern technologies in orthopedic sciences.
The articles featured in the journal cover various academic pieces of work, including research papers, review papers, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case reports, case series, clinical trials, technical notes, short communications, editorials, and expert opinions. It is hoped that by creating opportunities for scientific exchange and cooperation between scientists all around the world, JBOS will contribute to the development of orthopedic medicine and improve the health care conditions of the patients with diseases of musculoskeletal system and injuries.
Among many other topics, Journal of Bone and Orthopedic Sciences encourages submission of research works on the following topics of orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine: bone trauma and fractures, arthroplasty and reconstructive surgery, sports orthopedics, spine disorders, pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic oncology, osteoporosis, rehabilitation sciences, biomaterials and orthopedic implants, regenerative medicine, biomechanics, musculoskeletal imaging, robotic assisted surgery, and artificial intelligence in orthopedics. All papers submitted for publication go through a thorough peer-review and editorial evaluation process in order to guarantee that scientific merit, originality, ethical soundness, and clinical relevance are maintained.
