Biography

Prof. Udu is a distinguished Professor of Biochemical Toxicology with extensive academic, research and administrative experience. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and his Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from the University of East Anglia, UK. He also completed a DBT-TWAS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Neurosciences at Jiwaji University, India.

Prof. Udu has served as Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences at Ebonyi State University, as well as Acting Dean of the College of Basic Medicine at Gregory University. He has participated in university accreditation exercises across Nigeria and served as an external examiner and professorial assessor for several universities.

He has authored more than 100 national and international journal articles and books. His research expertise includes biochemical toxicology, environmental toxicology, neuroscience and molecular biochemistry. He currently serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Evangel University, Akaeze, Ebonyi State, Nigeria.
