Biography
Dr. Suvathi R. is an Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy specializing in Neurological Physiotherapy and Neurorehabilitation at Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. She is also a Co-Founder of ELME Physiotherapy and Sports Science Research Centre, where she is actively involved in clinical research, academic collaboration, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation research. Her recent research includes an observational study investigating lower-limb neural mechanosensitivity and functional disability in patients with lumbosacral radiculopathy, with a focus on quantitative neurodynamic assessment.
Dr. Suvathi is also actively involved in collaborative research in sports medicine, orthopaedic rehabilitation, ACL rehabilitation, and clinical innovation. She has contributed to research published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy and other physiotherapy and rehabilitation journals, including research on ACL rehabilitation, hamstring graft-related functional recovery, and rehabilitation interventions.
Alongside her clinical and research activities, she is actively engaged in physiotherapy education, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, mentoring student research, and contributing to multidisciplinary academic projects. Her professional goal is to bridge neurological clinical practice with evidence-based research and develop clinically meaningful rehabilitation strategies that improve functional outcomes and quality of life.
