Biography
Sergio Honorio, DDS, PhD, is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and translational biomedical sciences. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Santo Amaro (UNISA), specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of São Paulo (USP), and completed his PhD in Interdisciplinary Surgical Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). His research interests include photobiomodulation, oral surgery, implant dentistry, regenerative therapies, surgical risk assessment, and evidence-based clinical protocols.
Dr. Honorio has served as an Assistant Professor and held leadership positions in hospital-based oral and maxillofacial surgery services. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for international scientific journals. As a member of the Editorial Board of the Open Access Journal of Surgical Sciences, he is committed to promoting high-quality, evidence-based surgical research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
