Biography

Rodrick S. Katete is a Principal Investigator in the Molecular Medicine Research Group and founder of Afromics, a startup Medical Biotechnology Company. He teaches General and Analytical Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology, Medical Genetics and Molecular Cell Biology at Mzuzu University, Mzuzu, Malawi. He has previously taught at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, Mukuba University and Texila American University -Zambia. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Sheffield University, a BSc in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Microbiology and Biotechnology and a BSc with Honours in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He did his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His current research interest is in structural parasitology. He has supervised three MSc students at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, one PhD Student at Texila American University, and mentored many MSc and PhD students.
