Biography
Rafi Ul Shan is an interdisciplinary researcher, behavioral and policy scholar, and academic reviewer working across mental health, behavioral science, psychometrics, artificial intelligence, technology governance, psychosocial well-being, community resilience, environmental sustainability, and strategic-resource governance. His interdisciplinary education integrates psychology, criminology, journalism, political science, environmental law and policy, and professional English and employability studies, complemented by international professional coursework in leadership, organizational behavior, public policy, diplomacy and global affairs, inequality and democracy, global security, research and publishing, public relations, global health security, and cyber security through institutions including Macquarie University, University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, Wesleyan University, Utrecht University, University of London & SOAS, Leiden University, University of Geneva, University of California Irvine, Institute Polytechnique de Paris, University of Colorado Boulder, IBM, and Palo Alto Networks. His research includes a six-study programmer examining the psychological, ethical, and behavioral dimensions of generative AI in higher education, including co-development of a psychometric instrument measuring student attitudes toward generative AI, alongside scholarship on digital and mental health, adolescent and postpartum mental health, self-esteem and forgiveness, emotion regulation, psychosocial risk, mental-health stigma, social cohesion, disaster resilience, and community well-being. As an interdisciplinary As an interdisciplinary research scholar at the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (ICET), University of the Punjab in collaboration with PUAN USAID, he has further expanded his work into critical minerals, sustainability, energy transition, and resource governance, contributing to research concerning titanium-bearing coastal placer sands while engaging with the broader environmental, sustainability, policy, and strategic-resource dimensions of critical minerals. Rafi also contributes to international scholarly publishing as an Editorial Board Member and peer reviewer, evaluating research across psychology, neuropsychiatry, public health, education, social sciences, and emerging applications of AI in psychological therapy.
