Biography

Dr. O. S. Nimmi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology with 16 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industry experience. She holds M.Sc., B.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications and has been approved as a Ph.D. guide in Biotechnology. Her areas of specialization include Phytochemistry, Plant Tissue Culture, Nutraceuticals and Food Biotechnology. Her research interests encompass medicinal plant bioactives, phytochemical characterization, nutraceutical development, plant tissue culture, biosurfactants, nanobiotechnology, environmental remediation and sustainable utilization of biological and agro-industrial resources. She has published research articles and contributed to books and book chapters in these areas. She has also presented research at national and international conferences and received recognition including the Best Presenter Award at the Global Congress on Sustainable Growth & Development (2025) and the Reviewer Excellence Award (2021). She currently serves as a research supervisor for four research scholars and actively contributes to academic training, research and scientific outreach.
