Biography
I am a PhD Researcher in Sustainability Science at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, specializing in climate change adaptation and mitigation, Climate-Smart Agriculture, food security, environmental governance, behavioural public policy, and spatial analysis. My research combines quantitative methods, GIS, econometric modelling, household surveys, and stakeholder engagement to understand how institutions, human behaviour, and policy influence climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
My doctoral research investigates Climate-Smart Agriculture adoption and livelihood resilience in drought-prone Bangladesh, while my broader research examines climate justice, adaptation inequalities, governance inclusion, Indigenous and local knowledge, and equitable access to climate adaptation resources. I aim to generate practical evidence that informs public policy, strengthens institutional decision-making, and supports resilient communities across Bangladesh and the Global South.
Before entering academia, I spent several years leading industrial and international development projects in Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector. I successfully managed multidisciplinary teams, delivered complex projects on time and within budget, and worked extensively in environmental management, occupational safety and health (OSH), green construction, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise development. This experience allows me to approach sustainability challenges from both academic and practical perspectives.
