Biography
Dr Hengjia Zhang is a private periodontist and clinician-scientist with clinical and research experience spanning periodontology, implant dentistry, regenerative medicine, and translational dental sciences. He completed a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics with Distinction at the University of Sheffield and holds the Fellowship in Periodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also holds an MSc from the University of Oxford and a BDS (Hons) from University College Cork. His research interests include periodontal and peri-implant diseases, bone and periodontal tissue regeneration, advanced imaging for implant dentistry, oral–systemic interactions, and the relationship between periodontal inflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. His broader scientific background includes nanomedicine, mitochondrial biology, biomaterials, and translational regenerative research.
