Biography

Halide Nihal Acikgoz born in Istanbul on 9th October 1962. She graduated from Ege University Biology Department as a Zoologist in 1984. She started to work for Ankara University as Forensic Biologist in 1987. She completed her PhD in Forensic Biology at Ankara University, Institute of Health Sciences in 1998. She received her Associate Professorship title from the same university in 2019. She has authored and published 33 articles, 1 book, 5 book chapters, and 58 presentations at peer-reviewed scientific conferences. She conducts research in the fields of forensic entomology and forensic entomogenetics. She currently works as an associate professor at the Center for Integrated Technologies Application and Research at Ankara. She continues her mentoring work within the Girls in Science Community, mentoring undergraduate and graduate female students in science.
