Biography
Dr. Kumud Kant Awasthi is Professor in the School of Basic & Applied Sciences at K. R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, India. He holds a M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India & B.Sc. from CSJM University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His research interests include nanomaterials toxicology, heavy metals, bioremediation, biosensors, and forensic science. Dr. Awasthi has extensive teaching, research, and academic leadership experience. He has served as Professor and Associate Professor at Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, and as Founder Head of the Department of Life Sciences and Forensic Science. He also served as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Animal Welfare, Faridabad, India. He has also served on scientific, technical, ethics, biosafety, and academic committees.
His research portfolio includes 190 journal articles and book chapters, 18 books, and 10 patents, with an h-index of 25 and more than 2000+ citations. He has received research grants totaling ₹80.60 lakhs and has delivered more than 30 invited talks. Dr. Awasthi has served in editorial roles for journals from publishers including Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, SAGE, Frontiers, Bentham Science, and MDPI. He has also edited books and special issues in environmental toxicology, nanotechnology, forensic science, food safety, and related areas. His work has also resulted in patents, designs, copyrights, research awards, and international academic engagements.
