Biography
Abena Koranteng is a PhD student in educational psychology at the University of North Texas. Her work examines learning processes, individual differences and the educational implications of artificial intelligence with a focus on gifted and talented students. She has earned her master’s in population studies and a BSc in statistics and mathematics from the University of Ghana. Her methodological expertise includes quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research, statistical analysis, research-instrument development and data management. Abena has contributed to interdisciplinary research on climate–health interactions, including the development of official statistical variables for measuring the impact of climate on health outcomes in collaboration with the Ghana Statistical Service and the Office of National Statistics, UK and produced three technical reports. Through this work, she has one publication in a peer-reviewed journal. As a teaching assistant, she assists undergraduate learning and assessment in Human Development and Family Sciences by delivering parenting and family resource management courses to 35-40 students every class. Her current scholarly interests include AI literacy, self-regulated learning, metacognition, learner motivation, human-centered and ethical AI in education and data-informed approaches to improving equitable educational outcomes.
