Profile

Editorial Role

Abdul Ghaffar serves as editor for Open Access Journal of Wildlife and Ecology.

Biography

Abdul Ghaffar is a Doctoral Researcher in Aquatic Ecology at the College of Fisheries, Key Laboratory of Evolution and Marine Biodiversity, Ministry of Education, Institute of Evolution and Marine Biodiversity, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China. His doctoral research has been completed, and his thesis has been approved. He is currently awaiting the formal award of his PhD degree. His research focuses on the taxonomy, systematics, molecular phylogeny, and ecological distribution of ciliates in marine and freshwater ecosystems. His research experience includes live observation, protargol staining, single-cell DNA analysis, SSU rDNA and ITS sequencing, molecular phylogenetics, and eDNA metabarcoding for aquatic microbial community analysis. He has also conducted research on the biodiversity and community structure of sublittoral polychaetes from the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea. His broader research interests include aquatic biodiversity assessment, microbial ecology, coastal ecosystem monitoring, benthic ecology, conservation biology, environmental DNA (eDNA), and sustainable aquaculture. He has authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications and actively serves on the Editorial Board of the Open Access Journal of Wildlife and Ecology. Through his research, he aims to advance the understanding, documentation, and conservation of aquatic ecosystems.
